KKBC Committee Positions Vacant

Published Tue 22 Mar 2022

Dear Parent and Players,

Kuringgai Kangaroos Basketball Club is currently looking for applications for the role of Treasurer and General Committee Member.

Treasurer

Kuringgai Kangaroos Basketball Club (KKBC) is seeking to appoint a new Committee member to fill the role of Treasurer on our Committee of Management (CoM)

The Treasurer has oversight of the financial management of KKBC, ensuring that KKBC is working within relevant regulatory frameworks and within an agreed financial plan.

As a CoM member, the Treasurer shares responsibility and decision-making with other members of the CoM and it will therefore be an important part of the Treasurer’s role to ensure that other office bearers understand financial information that is being presented and the implications of this information.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

The Treasurer role is suitable for an experienced bookkeeper, CPA or Chartered Accountant. Please note that this is a voluntary position.

Potential candidates will have:

  • Capability and willingness to oversee the practical operational aspects of KKBC's finances, including influencing future direction.
  • Experience with or willing to learn current corporate governance relevant to voluntary and community organisations.
  • Experience using small business accounting software (KKBC uses Xero).
  • Advanced spreadsheet knowledge.
  • Be a Chartered Accountant or CPA.
  • A passion for community sport and helping to guide the future growth and direction of KKBC.
  • Willingness and ability to devote time and energy to the role.
  • Have a current Working With Children Check (WWCC).
